Carnival Cruise Half Marathon

on Tue, 02/14/2012 - 17:05

I recently came back from a Mexican Riviera 7 day cruise and let me tell you it was pretty awesome. It was tough getting those runs and workouts in but we managed to get it done somehow. I went on the cruise with my buddies, so we helped each other get pumped up about working out. There's no telling how many more pounds we could have gained if we didn't workout! hahaha...yeah i came back a bit heavier...on the 5th day i decided to run a half marathon distance on the top deck track. Each lap was one tenth of a mile, so i had to run 132 laps...the best part of the run is that i saw dolphins and whales jumping out and in of the water. That was pretty sweeeet...i wish i had pictures of that scenery, it was beautiful watching those animals in their natural habitat.

Not Your Mama's Mixer Invite

on Sun, 02/05/2012 - 17:24

I was invited to speak at Alianza's Not Your Mama's Mixer last week. It was a great experience to speak in front of a group about my Husky Heart health journey. Also met a lot of awesome people that were very positive about health and life. Here's the video invite. I recorded the speech, so i'll post the speech later this week.

RUNNING is Beautiful.

on Fri, 01/20/2012 - 17:33

It's amazing how beautiful this world is. I am happy I made the decision to start running because without that decision I probably would not have seen the beautiful scenery this world has to offer. This is a picture I took of the Pacific Ocean sunset at Mission Beach - San Diego, CA.

This past weeked marked the 2 Year Anniversary of when I decided to start running after my health and it's been a great experience. I am grateful to have the best family and friends that have encouraged and supported me. I am also fortunate that God has allowed to me to run consistently with no injury. I hosted a 10K Husky Heart Camp run on Saturday and I want to thank each one of you that came out to run. I had a great time running with all of you, hopefully you did to. I will be hosting more camps in upcoming weeks, so keep an eye out for the invite.

This Way

on Thu, 12/22/2011 - 17:11

thought i share the song i was listening to as i finished the last half mile during today's 5K...and yes, i was singing out loud as i ran...i might look crazy singing and running but man, i have fun doing it! singing out loud is part of my running technique...i read somewhere, and it's been great run the first part of your run with your head, the second part with your personality and the last part of the run with your heart....i usually sing out lout during the 2nd part of my gives me that boost to finish strong. enjoy the song

"This time I made up my mind/This time I'm back on my grind/I know there's things in my life/That I'ma let go startin tonight..."

Las Vegas Rock & Roll 2011

on Mon, 12/05/2011 - 19:36

I did it! Rock Legend status, ran 7 R&R's in 2011!! Got my Rock Legend medal at the expo, looks soo sick! The run down the strip was amazing...bright lights like a beast! There was so many people, I think 60K people ran...there was some parts where you just had to slow down, couldnt even zig zag through. But i didn't mind, it was fun running with so many people. It was chilly but I was fine during the run...but afterwards?! Game over...I was freezing...I took off straight to my hotel, I couldnt even wait or look for was bad. At least in Denver the sun was out, so the weather was tolerable. Last night it was cold in the evening and wind.

Congrats to everyone who completed the Full & Half Vegas R&R...good job Pierre, Andy, German, Sandy, Charro + Leslie, & Juana!

With the completion of Las Vegas Rock & Roll...I have met ALL my 2011 goals. I couldn't have done it without my wonderful family & friends who have been supportive and encouraging. I am fortunate to have you all in my life. Also, God who has allowed me to continue on my health journey with no major hiccups. Thank you all. One.
