Thanksgiving Running

on Sun, 11/27/2011 - 22:45

I hope everyone had a great thanksgiving weekend! I was up in L.A. for the weekend and had some amazing runs in...ok ok and I had amazing food too lol...but my runs were awesome. My runs took me to some spots where I had amazing views of Downtown LA, East Los Angeles, Lincoln Park, Dodger Stadium, LA River, HOLLYWOOD sign, Griffith Park Observatory, and Elysian Park. I'm thankful for many things, but I want to thank each and one of you that have been supportive of Husky Heart, I really appreciate all the love!

Los Angeles Rock & Roll Half Marathon 2011 #RnRLA

on Sat, 11/05/2011 - 01:04

The run was awesome!! Not as challenging as last years, but def a good route as we ran past the Coliseum, Staple Center and a great view of Downtown Los Angeles from 6th St bridge over the LA River. That was my fave part of the whole can see for yourself on the pics below. Oh check out the pic of the Karate Kid in the shower curtain w/ Cobra Kai running along! Lol

I ended up running the half with my friend German, which was his first half marathon ever...he ran it like a beast in his Chivas jersey...everyone kept cheering for him because of the jersey lol...def pumped me up running along with him and watching him cross the finish line. He's already signed up for the Vegas Rock & Roll, what a beast! Congrats to all My friends that ran the course...Cindy, Michelle, Eduardo, Julian, Set and Pierre. It was cool seeing Pierre twice along the course as he was trucking...we gave each other high fives as we passed each other on the other side.

Also, congratulations to Kelley from St Louis who ran the St Louis Rock & Roll half marathon on 10/23!! What's even more awesome, is that her parents also ran the half as well!! That is soo cool! Congratulations to all three of you!!

LA Rock & Roll in 3 days!

on Fri, 10/28/2011 - 03:33

my 5th 2011 rock & roll will be this Sunday ...still debating if I should run it in husky heart gear or in my teletubbie costume ?! What do you all think I should wear?

Pumped up that my friend German will be running his first half marathon! That is super pump...he's been training for the last few months like a beast. I'm positive he's gonna kick ass!!!

Here's a picture of Downtown San Diego i took today during my morning run ...gotta love beautiful sunny San Diego, always great scenery during my runs.

as I watch the World Series, it reminds me of our friend Kelley from St. Louis, which we met during our Chi R&R trip... I should email her and ask how last weekends St Louis Rock & Roll half went...I'm sure she kicked butt!

Denver Rock & Roll half marathon #RnRDEN

on Wed, 10/12/2011 - 15:13

it was coooooooooooooooooold, 37 degree's cold at was ridiculous cold walking from my hotel to the start line and the 15 min wait till the run started. I'm from So-Cal, the coldest i've prob ran in the morn has been about 60 degrees. Once i started running i got warm, luckily i decided to buy a windbreaker before heading out to mile high. That def made a difference throughout the whole run. The run itself was really awesome...ran through their downtown area. Ran near Mile High Stadium where i yelled out "RRAaaaaaaaaaaaiders!" lol...Pepsi center where the Nuggets play, Coors Field and ran through a really nice park that had a nice lake. I decided to take this run easy and not go for a PR, i ended up running 10 min miles. I just wanted to enjoy the run and scenery since i've never been, and i did.

Denver was awesome all around, i'll prob be back to visit during baseball season for sure. Also, as i mentioned before, i had this discomfort on my foot and it got worse the evening and the following day after the run. But 3 days later it's feeling almost normal. Did some research, could have been some strain. I'm resting a bit and taking it easy on the cardio. Next up is Los Angeles Rock & Roll half marathon on Oct 30th! let's get it!!

Denver Rock & Roll Expo

on Sun, 10/09/2011 - 00:37

been in Denver 2 days and it's been awesome so far...went to the expo both days to load up on the freebies ...went out to downtown Denver to celebrate a bro's bday...I met some cool peeps last night...they have an all you can drink bar in Denver...I haven't been to one of those since my college TJ years lolol and that was a looong time ago.

luckily I bought a windbreaker before my trip, it hit 37 degrees with rain's gonna be freezing tomorrow morning at 6am...good thing I'm quarter mile away from the start and finish line...pretty pumped up for tomorrow. Although, I have some discomfort on the top part of my's weird need to do some research. Aight I'll update you guys tomorrow after the you guys later Husky Heartmaniacs!

San Jose R&R half marathon

on Thu, 10/06/2011 - 15:44

Had a great run...the scenery wasn't the best but it was a great day in San Jose. The course was 90% of neighborhood scenery...there were a lot of people cheering on through the streets, so that was cool. I ended up getting the exact time I got in Chicago R&R HA! Best of all I had family and friends waiting for me at the SJ half finish line, it's always a great feeling seeing the support and encouragement from the people around you. My family even made me an awesome Husky Heart poster that I'm gonna hang up next to my medals.

Up next is Denver R&R half marathon on Sunday!! Pumped up for this trip!

Rock & Roll San Jose 2011 Expo
