Cross Fit

on Wed, 09/14/2011 - 15:39

This past Monday I started going to a cross fit gym ( bought one of those San Diego groupons/coupons for a months gym far it's been awesome. First, I need to learn all the moves needed to join the regular cross fit far I've learned a variety of exercises & stretches in the first couple of days during the 7am elements. Even though it's not the regular classes, I come out soaked and sore...the trainers/coaches sal & kat have been really cool and have made me feel comfortable working out in the gym as a noob.

I've been going to 7am class & doing my running at night...I already feel that cross fit is going to help improve my running. That's gonna be a good thing because I have 3 half marathons in october.

Anyone doing the Rock & Roll San Jose? Denver? Or LA half marathon?

carb'd up!

on Sun, 08/14/2011 - 00:45

Here's a pic of Giordano's pizza I ate today to carb up for tomorrow's run. There was 3 choices to chose from - Uno's, Gino's East and Giordano's...they all have good reviews but chose Giordano's because the local all agreed it was the best pizza in town. I'll admit it, it's one of the best pizzas ive ever had and I have left overs! Guess what I'll be eating for breakfast after my half? PIZZA!

You know you're a runner if...

on Fri, 08/05/2011 - 17:23

You know you're a runner if you end up running half-marathon instead of your scheduled Wednesday 9 mile run. I blame it on the San Diego weather & scenery. I didn't even put on my long run gear, compression calf sleeves, dri fit socks, and didnt even take water w/ me. I was in a zone, enjoying the beautiful parks and streets of San Diego in this beautiful weather. Well that run pretty much gave me that last minute boost of motivation for next weeks Rock & Roll Chicago half marathon. I'm ready to take on the midwest scorching heat! It shouldn't be that bad, since the run starts at 6am...we'll just have to wait and see when the sun comes out shooting rays at me. It fits my running style...i love running in the heat, but this midwest heat might be different than SD heat lolol....we'll see.

Here's a beautiful picture taken by German Licon of the San Diego skyline and my Nike+ Pegasus Husky Heart running shoes. You can look at all his work on his online portfolio on

Husky Heart tee launch

on Tue, 07/19/2011 - 17:50

Husky Heart tee's are finally available for any of you Husky Heartmaniacs!!! You can purchase your tee on the Hugs NOT Cupcakes online boutique. The Husky Heart camp & launch went really well. About 17 showed up for the Cowles Mountain Hike and stayed to watch me weigh in at the 18 month mark. I've lost a total of 101lbs in these last 18 months! Feels really great to have passed the minus 100 pound mark, but the journey does not end here. I'm 19lbs from my original goal, to be at 180lbs. If and when i meet that goal, i will not stop this health journey, this new lifestyle is going to be part of me for the rest of my life. Here's the link to the online store to buy your Husky Heart tee's and a video of the 18 month weigh in. thanks again for all your support!
